Designed, integrated and delivered internet and cloud-based broadcast contribution systems for Eurosport across EMEA, providing specialist technical support throughout.
Overview
Deployed to Paris for the Summer, I was responsible for the safe delivery of contribution feeds from the Olympic Games back to our production hubs, utilising various transport methods such as fibre and SRT connectivity.
This project involved significant technical collaboration with telcos, systems integrators, and production staff across EMEA.
I commissioned the Internet contribution system used to transport live interview streams for Warner Bros. Discovery’s "Mixed Zones" and Stand-Up Positions across the Paris 2024 Olympic Games. Spearheading this project from design to installation, I wrote scripts to configure video encoders and improve deployment efficiency, delivered technical training sessions to system operators, and was the only non-senior engineer in the department selected to maintain network infrastructure from the International Broadcast Centre in Paris.
